I’m so excited for everything I have coming up this month! There’s a lot of local events like a flower arrangement workshop, restaurant week and a book recommendation gathering I’m attending. It feels good to get out of the house an enjoy some fresh air, friends and local food!View Post
Who doesn’t love a good chocolate chip cookie?! I’ve never had one I didn’t like, but everyone has their favorite recipe, right? Mine is this one. A perfectly golden, crispy edge with a gooey, soft middle that just melts in your mouth. The trick I’ve learned is letting the dough rest overnight in the fridge. It really makes all the difference in the world. It’s a little hard to wait that long especially if you’re like me and want chocolate chip cookies right away, but it’s totally worth it. I promise! The ingredients have a chance to blend together making the cookies more flavorful. Also I used mini chocolate chips, instead of the regular size. I think using mini chips gives you that chocolatey bite in every mouthful (which I love!). I’ve made a lot of chocolate chip cookie recipes each always a little different, but after making this one I finally found a recipe that’s here to stay!View Post
Spring has arrived and it’s woken me up from this funk I was in for a while. The weather was getting a bit depressing to be honest. I’m a winter person through and through (it’s my favorite season), but spring couldn’t come fast enough this year! In the Adirondacks we label spring as ‘mud season’, which is true, but there’s so much more to spring than rain, mud and mild temps. Spring brings a new season, fresh beginnings, outdoor hikes, preparing the gardens, grilling, fresh bouquets of flowers and so much more. Here’s my list for my top 10 ways to refresh for spring.View Post
Stripes are usually my go-to pattern, but there’s something about wearing gingham in the spring and summer that I absolutely love. This off the shoulder gingham top is so cute, and I’m loving the tiered ruffles on the sleeves. How different, right?! I love this top because it’s such a fun shirt to wear. I’m also a big fan of the long sleeves, yet it’s still lightweight enough to wear through summer. I like tucking it into the front of my jeans to make it a little more structured, which I normally do this with most of my shirts. Gingham is very in for this season, but it’s been a favorite of mine for a long time! Are you loving the gingham pattern this season too?
Lance and I have been having so much fun doing our Sunday night cooking series! We’ve had some pretty amazing dinners, and I really want to share what I thought of each recipe with you guys. If your not familiar, Lance and I pick out a recipe to make on Sunday nights, either one we’ve made before or one that’s new to us. We video the process of us prepping dinner, and then I post it on social media. We do this as a way to get more of the recipes we love out to everyone. Lance and I cook a lot, and I wish I could post every recipe on the blog, so the videos are another fun way to show more of the recipes we make.View Post

Swedish Meatballs are something I’ve never made before, but I’ve had them as appetizers at get togethers . So when I hosted book club last weekend, I decided to make them. I have a few of The Pioneer Woman’s cookbooks and saw this Swedish Meatball recipe. She uses homemade meatballs, and before I would have wanted to as well, but the meatballs I got from the freezer section in the store were just as good! If you have frozen homemade meatballs at home you can use those instead! We had them at book club as an appetizer, and then the next day I boiled some egg noodles and topped with leftover Swedish Meatballs and some fresh parsley. This recipe took around 20 minutes to make. It’s perfect for a weeknight meal or a quick appetizer to make.View Post
You can never have too many pairs of shoes! They are my favorite way to pull an outfit together. When I’m done getting ready and step into a pair of shoes I just feel my whole look is complete. I’ve been getting more experimental with my shoe choices and within the last year I bought a pair of espadrille wedges, pink Adidas sneakers, ankle length rain boots, and blush loafers to add to my collection. There are so many cute styles I’m eyeing this spring from gingham sandals, perforated mules, espadrille wedges and more!
In the spring I like to add layers to my outfits. Early in the morning when I head to work, it’s still chilly enough that I need to throw on a jacket before I head out the door. Although it’s on the cooler side, I tend to wear a lighter jacket, since I know by the afternoon it usually warms up about 20 degrees. This green military jacket is one of my most worn pieces. It’s lightweight and can be styled all different ways.
